'It's about having the right information presented correctly to make the right decision quickly. LabHQ helps you take control of the critical business data generated by your laboratory'.
There are numerous analytical laboratories, either within manufacturing organisations, or independent, that perform testing on a range of materials, including raw materials, active substances, packaging components, in-process samples, intermediates, products and stability samples.  These laboratories often must operate to defined regulatory standards issued by agencies such as the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

Information management is a critical task for these laboratories and laboratory productivity, accuracy and control are usually greatly increased with improved information processing capabilities. A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is the industry standard application used to manage quality data and manage the quality assurance laboratory function.
The use of a LIMS facilitates the organisation and standardisation of routine operations within the laboratory.  In addition a LIMS offers the potential to automate routine laboratory tasks such as printing labels, checking results, performing calculations, producing reports, and generating certificates of analysis.

A well designed and implemented LIMS can facilitate:

•    More cost effective laboratory operations through improved laboratory resource utilisation.
•    Higher throughput laboratory operations through process efficiencies.
•    Improved compliance through reduction of errors and automated validation of data.

LabHQ Limited was innovated by the management team of Broughton Laboratories Limited, a small independent analytical laboratory, in order to develop and commercially market a suitable LIMS.  It was decided that existing commercial LIMS were either too complex, unsuitable for regulated products or not financially justifiable for small laboratories.
